Metalcraft is Seeing Brighter Days  

Like many manufacturers, Metalcraft Mining Equipment, located in Summersville, WV, is seeing brighter days and is planning for the future. Harley McClung, President, told Coal Miner Exchange: “We are seeing changes in the coal industry right now but these are not too robust. We have received some important orders, thank God, and I am certainly more optimistic about the future now than I was last year.” 

 Lowell McClung, Vice President, added: “The industry is steady but a little fragile defined by what coal prices are for the day. But I am also optimistic about the future.” Metalcraft Mining Equipment specializes in custom manufacturing, reconditioning, repair, and sales of underground mining machinery. The company also offers custom steel fabrication.

Looking further down the road, Vince Belletto, Sales Manager, feels that better days are ahead in 2018. “The coal industry right now is improving as is our order book, but I don't see a long-term upswing right now. I feel it will level off and stay mediocre for the rest of this year.” The goal at Metalcraft is simply “to provide outstanding service at competitive prices” and the company has positioned itself well to meet the needs of the industry when coal production is forecast to increase by 4% next year.
